Inauguration of the First Phase of the Building
Designed by acclaimed architect Arnald Calvet, the building has undergone multiple transformations to adapt to changing commercial demands.

Iconic dome and Santa Anna street section added.
The building received the Barcelona City Council award for the best building of the year. Later, Calvet would also design the Jorba warehouses in Manresa.

Inauguration of the emblematic arch
The design of the arch, with symbols of labor and commerce, was the work of the employee and illustrator Josep Algué.
The phrase “Labor omnia vincit” comes from Virgil’s Georgics.

Acquisition by Galerias Preciados
With this ownership, the building was extensively renovated and modernized, and was renamed “Jorba Preciados”.

Acquisition by El Corte Inglés
Major renovations were carried out, including restoration of the facades and modernization of the interior to comply with current regulations and offer modern conveniences

Renovation and adaptive reuse begins, led by O&L
